Who Are We?

Brigette Sayles

 

Brigette Sayles is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Boston where she earned her Masters in Education (M.Ed.) and Education Specialist (Ed.S) degrees in School Psychology.   Brigette's educational experiences included the completion of a 1200-hour internship in Boston Public Schools.  During this time Brigette worked with students ranging in age from 3-22 in an inclusion school as well as a substantially separate school for students with emotional and behavior based disabilities. Within these schools she helped to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students with a wide range of disabilities.  In addition to conducting psychoeducational assessments, Brigette provided individual and group counseling to students as well as consultation to teachers.  She also conducted functional behavior assessments, established individual behavior plans for students, and implemented academic interventions in reading and math.  Prior to entering the field of School Psychology, Brigette earned a Master's Degree in Educational and Developmental Psychology from Boston College.  Following this, she spent four years as an early childhood teacher.  Through this teaching experience Brigette worked closely with families to support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.

Rene Kashmiri

 

Rene Kashmiri is a graduate of Boston College, where she earned her undergraduate degree, and Harvard University, where she earned her Masters in Education (Ed.M.) and Certificate of Advanced Studies (C.A.S.) in School Adjustment Counseling.  Since completing her graduate studies, René has worked as a school counselor/social worker in Brooklyn, New York, Paterson, New Jersey, and Marlborough, Massachusetts with students ranging in age from 4-16.  Within these roles René provided both individual and group counseling to students, consultation to school staff around social, emotional, and mental health needs of students, and taught weekly classroom-based social-emotional learning lessons.  René is currently completing training to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, and has a particular interest in mind/body techniques and supporting students in emotional regulation.  In her free time, René enjoys exercising, reading, concerts, and spending time with her husband, two sons, and dog.
