Letter from the Principal – March 2020 I know I have said this in other newsletters, but it is really hard to believe how quickly this year is flying by!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful, restful February vacation. School starts to get very busy as it gets closer to springtime.  I can’t wait to experience my first spring at Alcott! Climate Survey: Concord Public Schools is looking for feedback from families!  In the coming weeks, families will receive a link to complete a school climate survey.  The information you share will help us to understand what families think

Letter from the Principal – February 4, 2020 It feels like the month of January just flew by!  After a snowy December, we managed to make it through the last month without a single snow day.  Do you think we’ll have the same luck in February?! Winter Luncheon: I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the PTG sponsored staff luncheon such a wonderful event last Tuesday.  I know I speak for the entire staff when I say that we all really appreciated the opportunity to take a break from our busy schedules to enjoy a

Letter From the Principal – December 2019 Happy December everyone!  It’s hard to believe that the end of 2019 is right around the corner.  Thanks to two very early snow days, we only have two and a half weeks until another vacation!  These weeks between Thanksgiving and December vacation are some of the busiest weeks of the year, in competition only with May and June in my experience!  I hope that everyone is able to spend some time appreciating friends and family in the lead up to the new year! Winter Craft Fair: I am excited to participate in my

Letter from the Principal – November 2019  October was filled with some exciting firsts for me as Principal of Alcott! I had an amazing first experience at the Alcott Turkey Trot last week!  It was a wonderful community building experience coordinated by our very own Mr. Gaudreau.  I especially loved seeing our kindergarteners cheer on their 5th grade buddies and watching everyone push themselves at their own pace to achieve as many laps as possible.  Collectively, Alcott students completed 2,462 laps for a total of 615.5 miles! Once pledges have been collected, we will share the final amount raised for

Letter from the Principal – October 2019 Though the weather can’t seem to decide if it is summer or fall, the leaves have started to change color.  I’ve been hearing stories of pumpkins and apple picking from so many students. It’s definitely starting to look like fall in New England! STEAM Lab Field Trips: Several of our classes have been able to experience the brand new STEAM Lab at the Ripley Building.  Feedback from students and teachers alike has been overwhelmingly positive. By the end of the year, each class will have had two opportunities to visit and engage in

Letter from the Principal – September 3, 2019 What a great start to the school year we have had so far!  It has been a pleasure to get to know all of you and your children over the past few days!  From watching kindergartners explore their new school to seeing our older students reunite with friends and staff, the joy throughout the halls has been wonderful to experience.  I look forward to meeting each of you and sharing in this joy as the year continues. Each month, I will be sharing updates with the school community via email and our
