Disconnect And Reconnect Night

Event Details

The CMS Challenge Success committee is sponsoring a Concord Public School District-Wide Unplugged and Screen Free Night on Tuesday, March 26.

Concord Middle School and all 3 elementary schools will have a homework-free evening and encourage families to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the world around us.

What is an Unplugged, Screen Free Night?
Screen Free Night is a fun way for children, families, schools, and communities to swap digital entertainment for the joys of life beyond the screen. It is a chance to reduce dependence on television, video games, smartphones, tablets, and computers.

How Does it Work?
Kids and families pledge to turn off their TV and other electronic media devices such as computers, electronic game systems, DVD and CD players, iPods/iPads, and cell phones for the evening and explore new activities that promote social, physical,
academic and creative development.

What Activities Can Families Do?
The possibilities are endless! Some ideas you can consider:
• Family game night
• Family walk around the neighborhood
• Play Sudoku or complete a word search
• Head towards the Concord Free Public Library for some good books (the main branch is open until 9PM)
• Cook dinner together or bake cookies
