Dear Alcott School Families,

I hope that you and your children are enjoying these final fleeting days of summer.  As the end of August draws near, I can feel the excitement growing as staff put the finishing touches on their classrooms and prepare to receive their students.  Mr. Dodge and his team have worked hard throughout the summer and the building looks amazing!  I am very much looking forward to welcoming you and your children back to Alcott in a few short days.

Attached is a document with Alcott specific information including our arrival and dismissal routines, how to change your child’s dismissal plan, information about school breakfast and lunch, and more.  Please also make sure to review the district-wide student handbook.  You will be asked to sign off that you have read it in the Parent Portal.

Please also note important upcoming dates:

• Open House: Tuesday, August 27th from 2:00-3:00.

• First Day of School: Wednesday, August 28th – early dismissal at 12:25pm (no school on Friday, August 30th and Monday, September 2nd).

• Back to School Night: Wednesday, September 18th from 5:30-7:30pm.  Stay tuned for more details, including specific times for each grade level.

• Half days will remain on Wednesdays for the upcoming year.  This information and more can be found by following this link to the 2024-2025 CPS calendar!
