November 3, 2022

Dear Alcott Families,

It is hard to believe that it is already November!  The trees really put on a spectacular show for us this fall.  Here’s hoping the beautiful weather continues into the winter months!

Elementary Conferences: This is just a reminder that there is no school for students on Thursday, November 10th because it is a conference day.  We are all quite excited that, for the first time since COVID, conferences are back in person (with the option for zoom if needed).  We are looking forward to conferences beginning so we can share all of the amazing learning your children are engaged in this school year!

Turkey Trot: Our annual Turkey Trot took place on Wednesday, November 2nd and what an amazing day it was!  Mother Nature truly gave us the best fall weather possible, which made an already wonderful event that much greater.  The Turkey Trot, where the entire school comes together for the good of the greater community, truly exemplifies one of the things that makes our school so special.  A big thank you to Mr. Gaudreau and the parent volunteers who made it possible!  For more information about the event (as well as how to donate online), please click here.

Change of Dismissal Plans: We understand that you may need to change your child’s regular dismissal plan occasionally.  We ask that you take the following steps to help the office stay on top of the many changes that come in each and every day.  First, when dismissal changes are necessary, please communicate these changes with your child’s teacher and with the main office (Kristin Corliss – kcorliss@concordps.org and Theresa Bertolami – tbertolami@concordps.org) as early in the day as possible.  If you need to make a change within an hour of dismissal (after 2:30 on full days and 11:30 on half days), please call the main office rather than emailing to ensure that someone receives your message.  Second, when communicating about a change, please make sure to include your child’s first and last name as well as their teacher’s name in the email.  If your child is going home with another student, please include the full name of that child as well.  Although we pride ourselves in knowing our students and their families very well, we do get lots of dismissal notes each day and this information helps us manage all of these changes efficiently!
