September 14, 2021

I hope you have all had a relatively smooth transition back to school!  I have enjoyed getting to reconnect with returning students as well as getting to know our new ones!  At the beginning of our first full week of school, I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few reminders as well as information about our upcoming Back to School night.

Drop Off: While we are so happy to be able to have families outside on school grounds again this year, we do still encourage you to take advantage of the valet style drop off to avoid congestion in front of the school in the mornings.  If you do choose to walk your child onto school grounds, please remember that we ask you to say your goodbyes at the flagpole and allow your child to walk the remaining distance independently.  With buses unloading in front of the school, it becomes very congested by the main entrance if families walk their child all the way to the front door.  We did not enforce this protocol for the first few days of school.  However, we will be asking families to respect the flagpole limit moving forward.

Pooled Testing: If you have not yet signed your child up to participate in asymptomatic pooled testing this year, I would strongly encourage you to do so.  You can access the consent form via this link.  Pooled testing is an incredibly important way for us to keep our students safe, particularly at the elementary level where COVID vaccines are not yet available.  If you have any questions about the pooled testing process, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or Nurse Amante.

Back to School Night – Wednesday, September 22

I also want to take a moment to share our Back to School Night schedule with you.  Sessions will be held via zoom according to the following schedule:

5:30 – Kindergarten
5:50 – Grade 1
6:10 – Grade 2
6:30 – Grade 3
6:50 – Grade 4
7:10 – Grade 5

I will be hosting two brief welcome webinars that evening, one at 5:15 and one at 6:15.  I will share a link for the webinar the week of Back to School Night.  Classroom teachers will share their links with you directly, also closer to the date of the event.

I look forward to being able to speak with all of you soon!

Best,

Ms. Krakow
