Principal Update – May 1, 2020

Dear Alcott Families,

I wanted to invite all of you to participate in a parent meeting next Wednesday, May 6 at 2:30pm.  This will be an opportunity to learn about Phase 3 and ask any questions that you may have (about Phase 3 or otherwise).  Zoom details will be emailed closer to the date.  If you are unable to attend or just prefer individual communication over a community forum, please do not hesitate to email me with your questions or concerns at any time.

I also wanted to touch on two frequently asked questions ahead of next week’s parent meeting.

Grade 5 Celebration: Identifying ways to celebrate our departing 5th graders is a priority right now.  Although we have all experienced loss during this school closure, our 5th graders have most likely felt this loss more acutely than other students.  We are committed to celebrating our eldest students even while we may not be able to engage in some of our more traditional end of year activities.

Student Belongings: We are working to develop a plan to return student belongings.  Any plan we develop needs to take into account social distancing so the logistics will be challenging.  However, we are up to the challenge!

I look forward to being able to speak with those of you who can attend on Wednesday!

Ms. Naomi Krakow
