Letter from the Principal – February 4, 2020
It feels like the month of January just flew by! After a snowy December, we managed to make it through the last month without a single snow day. Do you think we’ll have the same luck in February?!
Winter Luncheon: I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the PTG sponsored staff luncheon such a wonderful event last Tuesday. I know I speak for the entire staff when I say that we all really appreciated the opportunity to take a break from our busy schedules to enjoy a delicious meal together. In my first year at Alcott, I am continually impressed by the level of support from the parent community. This truly is a wonderful school community!
Welcome New Alcott Babies: I am excited to share the news that Mr. Besserer welcomed a new baby girl named Sadie Elizabeth on January 22nd. Ms. Lentini welcomed a new baby boy named Finn Jackson on January 26th. We are very happy for both of them!
Progress Reports: Progress reports will be posted in the Aspen portal on February 11th. If you do not remember your parent portal login, please email parentportal@concordps.org for assistance.
Absences and Lateness: When you complete an absence or tardy form on the Alcott website, please make sure to include the reason why your child is out so that we can mark their attendance properly. If your child is home sick, we do ask that you provide us with some information about their illness. Nurse Amante uses this information to track illness throughout the school.
Drop Off: This is just a reminder to keep traffic moving in the morning drop off line. If you are using the drop off line, we ask that you unload your child(ren) as quickly as possible to keep the line of traffic moving. If you need to take more time, we would ask that you find a parking spot to minimize traffic backing up into the neighborhood.

5th Grade Band Informance Concert at Willard: Please note that the upcoming February 13th Band Informance is for 5th graders and not the entire band as was described in the January newsletter. I apologize for any confusion!
