Alcott Elementary School Weather Station
In September 2004, a WeatherBug weather station was installed on the roof of Alcott Elementary School, located at the rear of the building. This station was funded by a grant from the Concord Education Fund. In 2005, thanks to the generosity of the Alcott PTG, we secured a lifetime subscription to WeatherBug services for the station.
Founded in 1992, WeatherBug provides live, local weather information to millions of users online. They also deliver real-time weather data to over 100 state and local agencies, including the National Weather Service, TV stations, schools, and businesses.
The Alcott weather station monitors various weather parameters, including temperature, humidity, rainfall, barometric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, and wind gusts. This live data supports the Earth Science curriculum for first and fourth grade students.
