Dear Alcott Families, Happy New Year!  The Alcott School Community finished 2016 with a flurry of activities that were wonderful examples of our core value of Caring.  These included: Curley’s first graders made dinner placemats for an assisted living facility in Burlington.  Many of the residents spend the holidays there and they loved the students’ holiday messages and drawings. Grade 5 held their annual community service project for the Minuteman ARC of Concord.  The students, teachers and staff collected over $1,000 in gift cards, and also filled six boxes with sports equipment, paints, brushes, and exercise weights to help the

Good Morning Alcott Families, I am pleased to report that Alcott has successfully completed the Annual Lockdown Drill this morning.  School Resource Officer Scott Camilleri facilitated the drill. Thanks to the preparations of our staff and the cooperation of students, the drill went quickly and smoothly.  When the drill was completed, I made an announcement over the PA system so that classroom instruction could resume. Lockdown drills are unannounced and can occur any number of times throughout the year.  These drills involve the staff locking their classroom doors, turning off the lights, and moving to a location in the room that is out

I hope you are enjoying the last few day of your summer break.  Personally, I had a wonderful time traveling through five countries.  I biked through four countries along the Danube River and hiked and toured the Lucerne and Murren Switzerland areas.  The Alps are beautiful, especially in the morning with the snow-capped mountains and the ringing of the cowbells.  It was an amazing summer! For new families to Alcott, each month I send the Principal News out electronically to keep you aware of any upcoming events occurring in our school.  If you know someone who has not received this
