About The Library

The Alcott Elementary School Library Media Center welcomes approximately 470 students in Kindergarten through Grade 5, a staff of approximately 90, and a group of dedicated volunteers.  We are located on the second floor of the Alcott School and administer a collection of more than 18,000 books, periodicals, and multimedia resources.  A center of student activity, all K-5 classes visit every week.  In addition to scheduled class time, students may visit for a variety of other reasons including book exchange, to select resources for classroom projects, reading assignments, or to find information for independent research. We strive to nurture a love of reading for fun and for information.
